Bring a furry friend into your life through pet adoption! Shur Rescue of Cecil, Wisconsin seeks homes for the cats and kittens at its animal shelter in Shawano County. Individuals and families are encouraged to apply to adopt a cat. If you’re willing to create a permanent, loving environment for a new pet, we have a cat (or a pair of kitties) for you. Cats and kittens are available same day if the adopting party meets all of the necessary requirements.

Steps to Adopt a Cat from Shur Rescue

Here are the steps to take before adopting a cat or kitten:

Fill out an adoption application form online and provide three personal references. Only one reference can be from a relative.
View our Cat Spotlight online which highlights cats and kittens available for adoption. Shur Rescue vaccinates, spays/neuters and treats cats for illnesses or injuries prior to adoption.
Schedule an adoption interview with the Shur Rescue team. Shur Rescue is open seven days a week by appointment only.
Visit Shur Rescue at N6561 Cheese Factory Road, Cecil to meet the cats and talk with an adoption specialist. Shur Rescue will answer your questions and address any concerns before you adopt a cat.
Finalize all of the paperwork and pay a $75 adoption fee. Cat adoption fees cover the cat’s vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.
Shur Rescue will provide the new pet owners with veterinary referrals, ID tags, medical records and other information.
